Speaking
20 Mins
Speak based on familiar experience (2 independent tasks)
-Require you to speak on familiar topics
Question 1 - will ask you to describe something. For example, an important event, a favorite activity,etc
15 seconds to prepare, 45 seconds to respond.
Question 2 - will be presented with 2 possible actions,situations or opinions. For example, whether or not television has been a benefit for humanity.

Although some would argue that television has not been a benefit for humanity, in my opinion the television has been a great benefit for humanity.
The televison plays an important role in everybody's day-to-day's life in variety of fields such as entertainment,sports,education,news,stock market update,political debates,and so on.
The television provides the luxury of seeing World Cup and Olympic games from our home. It gives the opportunity to see the important events such as satelite launch,political debates and what is happening in the battle field.
Speak based on reading and/or a listening passage(4 integrated tasks)
-Combine more than one skill when responding. For example, you will read a passage and listen to a brief lecture or conversation and then speak in response.

30 seconds to prepare and 60 seconds to speak your response.
-read a short reading passage (75 to 100 words long -40 to 15 secs to read) on your computer screen about atopic of campus-related interest(new parking rules,quality of life on campus,a letter to the editor of a campus newspaper,new foorball stadium proposal,etc).Then listen to two people (or one person) discussing that topic (60 to 80 secs long) and expressing an opinion about the topic from the reading.
It is very important to take notes while listening to topic. Either speaker will object to the position taken in the reading or agree with the position from the reading.
Now you will be asked question based on what you have read and what you have heard.
The women agrees with the announcement and thinks that the university is right to increase its fees. She thinks the tution increase is necessary because the university can then hire more teachers. She feels that the classes are getting too crowded and more teachers are needed.She has found it hard to get personal attention from her professors. She agrees that money should spend to improve laboratory facilities because they are out of date and that this has made it hard for her to get the practical laboratory experience she feels she needs to get a good job.

Question 4 is same as Question 3 except the question 4 is based on acadamic subject .

There is no reading in Question 5. The conversation would be for about 40 to 60 seconds length.
Preparation time 20 seconds, response time 60 seconds.
Listen to the conversation (campus-related situation) then you are askedto describe the problem that the speakers are discussingto choose between two alternativesto explain why your prefer that solution
For example, speakers discussing a problem about too much schoolwork and not enough time to do it.
Question 6
Listen to a professor present a brief excerpt from the lecture on an acadamic subject and then you will be asked a question about what you have heard.The lecture would be for about 40 to 60 seconds.
Preparation time 20 seconds, response time 60 seconds.
Explain the issue/main subject and summarise the information from the lecture.Convey enough information so that spmeone who has not heard the lecture would be able to form a good idea of what the professor was explaining to the class. No need to repeat all of the details provided in the lecture.

Write an essay based on a reading and listening passage (1 integrated task)
-Read a passage about an academic topic and then listen to a lecture on the same topic. You will be able to take notes while you do this. You will then use your notes to write a response based on what you have read and heard.
Write an essay based on a prompt only (1 independent task)
-Write a response based on your own knowledge and experience
