7 Habits of Effective People

I am half way through reading the "7 Habits of Effective People". I have to work on few items before I continue.

Sow a thought, reap an action;
Sow an action, reap a habit;
Sow a habit, reap a character;
Sow a character, reap a destiny.

Private Victory

  • Be Proactive
  • Begin with the End in Mind
  • Put First Things First

Public Victory

  • Think Win/Win
  • Synergize
  • Seek First to Understand.. Then to be Understood

Be Proactive

My Circle of Concern -CoC [we have no real control]

My Circle of Influence -CoI [we can do something to change]

Proactive people focus on their efforts in the CoI.

The proactive approach to a mistake is to acknowledge it instantly, correct and learn from it. This literally turns a failure into a success.

Begin with the End in Mind

Means to start with a clear understanding of your destination.

It's incredibly easy to get caught up in an activity trap, in the busy-ness of life, to work harder and harder at climbing the lader of success only to discover it's leaning against the wrong wall. It is possible to be busy - very busy - without being very effective.

My Personal Mission Statement

Never compromise with honesty

Admit your mistakes instantly, correct and learn from it
Understand "Money Isn't Everything"
Keep Reading and Learning -Every month atleast one new book
Respect the Disadvantaged - Help Charities
Take Calculated Risks
Maintain a positive attitude & Lighten the Atmosphere with Humor
Listen twice as much as you speak
Be orderly in person and in work

Put First Things First

I) Urgent & Important things

II) Imporant and Not Urgent things --is the heart of effective self-management

Get into Business School - Learn Leadership,Management,Business and Network
Look for Opportunities and Start a Business - Begin with the End in Mind

III) Urgent BUT Not Important things

IV) Not Urgent and Not Important things

Think Win-Win
